Alright, so if you’re suffering from hair loss and are considering getting an FUE (follicular unit extraction) hair transplant, this might be a good option for you. However, when it comes to any kind of surgery — hair restoration included — you should do a lot of research before pulling the trigger on a decision.
Today, there are a lot of options for treating hair loss — some medical and non-invasive, and then of course you have hair transplants. There are literally TONS of clinics.
In recent years, a lot of “fly-by-night”-style, unethical clinics are popping up, offering FUE-based hair restoration at seemingly impossibly cheap cost — monetarily. But there are lots of potential risks with these clinics. You could permanently disfigure yourself if you go with them!
Turkey has become a hot spot for these types of shady clinics.
Joe Tillman, well-known in the hair loss forums as “jotronic” and the owner and editor of the great hair transplant information site and blog, HairTransplantMentor.com, actually traveled to Turkey to do an undercover investigation and report on these clinics. It is highly illuminating and a must-watch:
Joe Tillman’s Expose on Hair Transplant Clinics in Turkey
Part 1
Part 2
Recently, I started doing my own research into FUE and I was particularly impressed with a clinic close to where I live that just happens to have one of the most skilled hair restoration surgeons that practices exclusively FUE-based hair restoration running it. The surgeon is Dr. Baubac Hayatdavoudi, and the clinic is the Alvi Armani Clinic in Beverly Hills. I was stunned at the results I saw first-hand in one of his patients, and I interviewed Dr. Baubac to learn more about FUE and his practice. Stay tuned as we will be posting the interview soon.
But suffice to say, when it comes to hair restoration: research, research, and more research is key. You will be stuck with your hair transplant for the rest of your life, so it’s worth taking the time to learn as much as you can before you choose to go forward with one.
