Intercytex is starting phase II this month.

"This month phase two trials - to discover the most effective dose - begin on 50 people in Manchester and Harley Street in London. Scientists at Intercytex are trying to create a cell bank to allow cells to be transferred from one individual to another. Intercytex is looking at robotics to automate the process."

Hey News, you are my kind of poster!!! I logged on this morning to post this same link.

I really liked this article. It gives insight into Intercytex's cloning trials and gives the background on Kemp. I liked hearing that he is sporting 66 cloned hairs on his own scalp.

I hope their trials work well. It would be a blessed relief if this technology would pan out.

If this actually ends up panning out in the near future with a safe and viable procedure to generate enough hair to offer someone an alternative to HT, it will catch a lot of big names in the industry by surprise!

I'm pretty excited about this too. It means I'll have more hair to augment my recent HT if and when I need it!

Who do you have in mind? Can you elaborate on this?

I've been in a good mood ever since I read this article this morning. I'm trying not to get too excited, though. I mean: How many times have we been told that the cure was just around the corner? (I'm sure that's what they were telling us 10 years ago.)

Most doctors I know that I've asked still think it's at least 5 years to 10 years away.

Let me guess: They were all HT surgeons who were trying to sell you a hair transplant...

I can't wait to hear the results of the trials. I remember that Dr. Ken Washenik said in an interview that HM technology might not only grow new hair, but also reinvigorate dormant follicles. Just imagine if this really happened... I'm getting all excited - I can barely contain myself...

Some HT surgeons and some who are actually in the field on the cutting edge of the hair cloning research. I don't want to mention any names because they gave me their opinions in confidence.

No, I haven't, but I was reading some posts on another hairloss forum, and there was this guy who had sent them an e-mail, asking for a timeline. Here's the reply:

It is hard to predict exactly, but here goes:

Phase II trials might be completed in 2007

Phase III trials might be completed in 2008

Regulatory approval processes might be completed in 2009

ICX-TRC may be on the market in 2010.

I'm actually convinced that HM will hit the market in 2010. (So far Intercytex's timeline has been quite accurate: They said that Phase I trials would be completed in 2005 and that Phase II trials would commence in 2006. So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for 2010.)

I also have a feeling that by 2010 there will be something that significantly helps those suffering with MPB.
