new user and a few questions

Post by alro »

Hello all, I am new (obviously) and I have a couple questions. I have done searches on the forum but have not found the exact answers. One, does 5% minoxidil only work for vertex balding or is it effective for hairline. I know rogaine says it is only for vertex. Also has anyone used ZIX (zinc sulfate, vitamin b6) with success or is it worthless. Again I thank anyone that takes the time to respond.

Hello airo and welcome,

I think the reason that Rogaine says it only works for the vertex is because the vertex is the area that was used in the clinical trials to prove it's efficacy, so they can't claim that it works elsewhere. I have personally found it to be effective for me in the hair line and temples and I have read that others have also had success in those areas as well.

As for Zix, I honestly don't know. It wouldn't be the first treatment that I would personally consider though but I don't know enough about it to make an assertive statement.

Regards,
Sam

I think minoxidil will hold your hairline in place if you are a responder to minoxidil. It won't grow regrow hair in front of your existing hairline, but it can fill in patches in the vertex.
5% minoxidil
Multivitamin with iron
