Thinning at the sides

Post by HairLossFight.com »

Just wondering if any of you have noticed thinning at the sides of of your head.

Before I ever had any recession along the hair line or any thinning in the crown, I remember back when I was 18, after I got a hair cut one day I noticed that the sides of my head had sparser hair than everywhere else. It hasn't really gotten any worse since then, but if I get a close hair cut (as I normally do) I notice that its thinner there than say the back or donor area of my scalp. It's not something that anyone else would probably notice unless they were looking for it, but I can tell.

Anyone else with AGA experience this? Or am I the odd person out here?

Sam,

I think thinning on the sides is normal for every one. People tend to have less hair on the sides naturally. As we age, that area just thins out a bit.

My sides were never really thick. They have thinned a bit more, but it's evenly distributed so I don't think anyone would ever notice (except for me  )

My guess is that kind of thinning has everything to do with the aging process and not much to do with AGA.
