Internal's advice...

Hi all

Apart from Fin, what is the best internal to take for DHT blocking? I am on Immortal's regime too, but want to add something to it thats specifically targetted towards diffuse hair loss

I've tried Nourkrin before with no effect and do not wish to try Provillus. Would something like Shen Min help? Or some sort of prostate supplement?

It'd be impossible to say what's best. As far as prostate supplements go..there's an anti-cancer one I mentioned in the Health section here. http://www.hairlossfight.com/forums/vie ... =35&t=1179 Expensive though. Or search Iherb.com or Swansonvitamins.com or Vitacost.com etc for "prostate" and you'll see plenty.

I've seen it cheaper though..was on sale at Vitacost at one point- don't think they carry it anymore though.

Over at IHs people are now trying out Pueraria Mirifica (PM) as a replacement for Fin. It works by a different mechanism and the physiological effects aren't identical but it seems promising. Like Fin you can over due the dose and get negative side effects though. But that is the same with Saw Palmetto or anything that messes with hormones. Some are trying it Every-Other-Day (EOD), which helps negate any negative sides. Even those with sides the side effects do not seem as severe as fin.

avgjoe, in my initial stages of hair loss, I found Advanced Shen Min for Men to be helpful. But that was ten years ago, when the company was owned by Biotech. Natrol bought the company a couple of years ago, and apparently, in an effort to save money, reduced the amount of fo ti, herbs, etc available per capsule. So I am not as confident in its ability to slow hair loss or reduce thinning.

As you get older, I think that you will find that DHT blockers, be they synthetic or natural, are not what your hair and scalp need.

Yeah I really think it depends on your age and your body's needs. Some people can benefit from something like PM others will not. Just another part of the MPB mystery. Really it seems like we all end up at the same location (bald), just by different pathways.
