I highly recommend anyone considering a transplant to watch.
Tune in the day after thanksgiving (nov 26th) 8pm est. (check your local listings) to see how five of Dr. Bauman's patients are doing with their hair restoration treatments. Should be interesting.

No, I didn't watch it but I read a recap of it on MSNBC. I was surprised that the lasercomb guy got good results. The blurb I read didn't have any photos. Someone who saw it, told me that the lasercomb guy did look like he had improved.
I'm still very skeptical of the lasercomb thing. However, if minoxidil weren't FDA approved, I wouldn't be very impressed with the results I've had so far. I think I would doubt that it was doing any good. It's hard to judge hair loss/regrowth/maintenance.
Sam, have you contacted Hairmax and asked them for a lasercomb for your review? They should let you use one for 6 months. I've seen where they've done that for some media people in the past. However, I've never seen a follow-up article from one of these people who have been lent a lasercomb.

It was quite interesting. They had several guys who were treating their hair loss, each with a different method, for six months. After the six months they checked the progress of these guys.
1 guy took propecia alone
1 guy used rogaine and propecia
1 guy gut a hair transplant
1 guy used the lasercomb
1 guy took viviscal
Results
Everyone had some regrowth except the guy on viviscal. If I would rank the results from best to worst I would say:
#1 -- the guy with the hair transplant
#2 -- lasercomb guy
#3 -- propecia guy
#4 -- propecia + rogaine guy
#5 -- viviscal guy
These results are somewhat surprising. For me the lasercomb was the most surprising of all. As for the fact that the rogaine + propecia guy didn't do too well, I would say it's probably because he was at a very advanced stage of hair loss, almost completely bald, and age was probably a factor as well.
The moral of the story... the sooner you get on a treatment regimen the better. If after a long period of time, the treatments aren't working very well for you, hair transplants can be a good option.
....And I HAVE to get my hands on one of these lasercombs!!!
