I'm shedding a normal amount now. Not sure, if I'm getting regrowth though. People still don't think I have thinning hair and, in fact, they think I'm crazy if I mention it. However, with female hair loss, the woman ALWAYS notices it way before anyone else does.
Not sure of how well minoxidil is working

I've been using it for almost 5 months. I'm a female, so I started wtih 2% and have worked my way up to 5%. My shedding is down. I suffered from a round of TE for about 10 wks. I was losing a crazy amount of hair and thought I'd be bald by the time it stopped.

Hey! How are you? I think that it is awesome that you are doing something about something that bothers you. Using minox should help keep more hair as compared to if you had not used it at all. It is my belief that it is better to take preventative action rather than waiting until it gets bad before treating it. I remember when I first started to lose my hair people would say that I was crazy for thinking so. This made me believe that maybe I was overreacting and so I ignored my hairloss. I wish I had not listened to others and got on a regimen sooner. You are making a good decision with minox.

Thanks Blueshard
I'm doing fine. I'm glad that I'm using minoxidil relatively early. I wish I had started using it last year when I went to a dermatologist about a thin patch I was developing. She told me it was nothing and told me to take iron supplements. I went to a doctor this year (male doctor). He said he couldn't really see where I was losing hair, but he didn't know what I looked like with a full head of hair. He didn't suggest anything for me. I went out and bought some minoxidil.
A lot of women are reluctant to use minoxidil. They will try everything, but that.
Still I am a bit envious of the guys, whenever I see a cool-looking guy with a shaved head, I wish I would look that cool and cute if I shaved my head. I think we'll find a cure for baldness before it's socially acceptable for women to shave their heads.

my_username,
Great to hear from you! I think you're doing the right thing to use the minox, just as blueshard said. Also, with regards to shaving your head, I can see why you wouldn't want to do that, but what about cutting it short.
One of my best friends is a girl who keeps her hair short, and on her it is even more attractive than when she had it long. So much so that she has kept a short head of hair for the past 3 or 4 years. The shorter you keep your hair, the less obvious it is that you're losing it. Sounds like an oxymoron, but for me it has been true and as a general rule of thumb it's true for most people.
Regards,
Sam
