Can a vegetarian diet cause hair loss?

Post by mustardman »

I recently became a vegetarian 6 months ago. My hair feels thinner and worse than ever. Correlation?

Hello mustardman,

It's possible that your conversion to vegetarianism may have caused some hair loss, especially if you are not making sure that your diet includes all the necessary nutrients in the right amounts. For instance, if you're not getting enough protein, or enough of certain vitamins you can cause hair loss. You can also cause hair loss by consuming too much of certain ingredients (such as vitamin A).

Regards,
Sam
