Very much impressed by Revivogen's claim

I read this claim by Revivogen in the ask the experts section and am very much impressed by it. I'm going to use Revi pretty soon and Dr.Alex's own confidence really boosts my interest to finally use it. You can see it is a very big claim. Anyway, I wouldn't stop the minoxidil but knowing Revi aids in keeping the minox hairs is interesting. In theory it should be possible right Sam? I mean first get the hairs growing by minox (keeping the hairs in anagen). Then I guess the Revivogen anti DHT properties can continue to keep the minox hairs healthy even if you stopped the minox. What are the possibilities here? Could be true I think (would be very good news)

Revivogen will work to maintian the hair that you have regrown with Minoxidil. You must initiate Revivogen use along with Minoxidil for 2 months then taper off of Minoxidil. This will prevent a dramatic shed.

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Alex Khadavi, and as you know I like Revivogen, but it's my opinion that you should continue to use minoxidil (if you are not allergic to it and are not experiencing adverse side-effects which are rare). The two complement each other. Minox is just too cheap nowadays in the generic 5% concentration to not use if you are suffering from hair loss.

I've started using Revivogen for 3 months, and it's been giving my scalp a much better feel. Personally, I feel that it does a good job on maintaining healthy scalp and keeping existing hair. As for Minoxidil, I've just started for less than a month, so there's a long way to go before I can judge on its ability. But my father has been on Minoxidil alone for the past 6-7 months, have seen quite some regrowth (more obvious during the last 2 months).

Since you both have been with Morphollica for a while, do you hear much of Nioxin? I've heard from barbers that Nioxin helps you keeping your existing hair, presumably the way Revivogen does. However, Nioxin runs at a much lower price.

Mel, I've heard that you are in Thailand. Have you tried any of the clinics there? If yes, how is the result? I have a friend who had a really good result from a clinic in Samut Prakarn, but it seems really expensive. Plus, I would love to see more promising results before I decide for the treatment. I've seen some of the Nioxin ads on the BTS subway stations in Bangkok but my honest opion is no one talks about them on the hairloss forums so I'm not so interested in them. What do you think Sam?

As for the clinic in Samut Prakarn, I think its Swenson Hair Center (or Svenson).

They are very expensive at about 700 USD per month. I tried their branch in Chiang Mai for 6 months with no results. This is before I "educated" myself on MBP. Their service is a big scam I'd say.

Sorry Matteo, I think your original question slipped through the cracks for me. Melchang, thanks for answering his question.

I have used Nioxin and like it overall as a shampoo. I find Tricomin to have a very similar overall feel to Nioxin. If I had to choose between the two shampoos I'd choose Tricomin because of the clinical data showing it has some efficacy in treating hair loss.

I don't think Nioxin will regrow hair, but I think its a great shampoo and has ingredients that may help a bit with the overall health of the scalp and hair.
