Another question
Even though ive always had an irritable scalp and mild sebhorreic dermatitis, ive decided to the order the alcohol based minoxidil 5% and not the glycerin based. However if the glycerin based is just as effective then i will consider using that instead. Can somone please shed some light on this topic. If the glycerin based is just as effective then why is an alcohol based solution minoxidil 5% produced at all?

Not sure if you'll actually read this response since it's coming so late. I guess I missed your question when you originally posted it. I just checked for unanswered posts and came across your message. Anyway I think that a combination glycerin and alcohol based solution is probably the best bet if you have seb. derm. I use Xandrox15 and find it to be both very effective and non-irritating to my scalp. I also have seb. derm. and have found this to be the best minox product I've used to date.
I'm not sure if there are other glycerin and alchohol based solutions, but if you or anyone else knows of any, by all means let us know. I'll check it out and review it on the site.

They have a "water based" one....a "gel" one...a low alcohol/pg one...and a liposomal one.
I personally prefer gse, rooibos etc..."natural" minox.

I just don't think it's needed when there are alternatives out there. Combo's like Equisomin or some of the alternative products from lipoxidil.com or even FNS can't do what minox can- w/out potential side effects etc? Minox doesn't seem to help a lot of people so we shouldn't be shocked when these alternatives don't do much for a lot of people either.
And..as I like to say.....FDA approved doesn't impress me. It sure hasn't impressed a lot of hairloss sufferers.

FDA Approval is not the end all and be all in determining whether to use a product, true, but it doesn't hurt to have it. Scientific, clinical data is more important to me. I still haven't had a chance to really check out the products you've mentioned. I will update the site with info on these products when I get a chance. Thanks for the info.
