It has been some time since I have posted, I've been crazy busy moving out and getting a new job
ANNNNYWAY
I have started using Propecia, I am on the 4th week and no side effects so I will be ordering more, good start.
What I would like to know is whether I should stop using minox, I have not found that it does anything for me, and infact after using it for over 6 months and there has been no improvement, it has actually continued to keep the shedding quite happily.
It may be doing something for you and you just don't know it.
Another thing is that the minox may work better now since you are on Propecia. The combination of a growth stimulant (minoxidil) and a DHT inhibitor (Propecia) will most likely produce the best results as compared to just one of the other.
If I was in your shoes, I would continue to use the minox, but if money is an issue and you have to pick Propecia or Minox, then go for the Propecia.
Hi Guys, firsly let me appologise for being so late with the reply, I moved house and have had no internet I almost died lol
I have now been using minox and propecia together for about 2 months and I must say I am seeing no reduction/slowing in hairloss at all, it is still getting faster more than anything.
Does anyone have any idea how long the increased shedding lasts? I only ask because due to treatments I have been trying I have actually lost alot more hair than I would have naturally so I am slightly annoyed.
Shedding is normal in the early months of hair loss treatment. For some it lasts for several months and some it lasts just a couple. The hair then comes in thicker than before.
You have to wait it out for at least a year before evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment on yourself. The early part of a treatment is always a difficult roller coaster ride.
I highly recommend taking pics... like RIGHT NOW... believe me you will be grateful in the future when you need to see objectively how you hair has progressed. BEesure to not the exact location that you took the pics in and the camera setting so that you can mimic it exactly in the future months when you take pics again.
You are using the most proven treatments for hair loss right now, I recommend NOT LOOKING IN THE MIRROR everyday and try to accept the fact that you are going to have temporary increased hair loss that will come in thicker in coming months.
