Hi
I was on a course of accutane several months ago, and have been suffering from hairloss due to the medication.
I was thinking of taking a hair vitamin, to hopefully help promote hair growth to hopefully help correct my problem.
However, most of the vitamins have vitamin A as beta carotene in them, and I've heard that accutane hair loss is probably associated with an overdose of vitamin A.
I've also heard that beta carotene only converts to vitamin A as the body needs it.
So my question is, will taking this pill with beta carotene make my condition worse or is it safe to take.
if anyone has information about this, it would be appreciated.

I was on Accutane for 9 months as well. My treatment stopped in July, and whilst I didn't suffer from increased hair loss DURING the treatment, I have noticed some patchy hairloss on my legs as well as on the sides of my head since my treatment stopped. (I've got an increasingly moth-eaten look. Grrrrrrrr...)
I've since started taking "Perfectil" - a multivitamin that is supposed to promote hair growth. It doesn't contain vitamin A.
