thanks alot for the information and helping me out, infact since using selsun blue ive seen a dramatic decrease in hair loss. Therefore my hair loss may have been due to the sebhorreic dermatitis i had, which is now controlled with selsun blue. Its seems my dermatologist got it wrong because he suggested it was a serious case of male pattern baldness i had and not telogen effluvium, but Dr.Lee states its telogen effluvium. (44%) telogen rate. Anyhow in your opinion is it worth start applying a topical lotion or now that things have settled should i wait. Essentially im worried if i start using some topical lotion things will get worse, and what happens if you discontinue using a product does that make your hair loss worse then prior to the treatment application ? By the way i was once told about 5% minox + 0.0125% progesterone is effective, what do you think about that ?

I'm glad the Selsun Blue got your Seb Derm under control. I have been wrestling with mine on and off for many years, but I know my hair loss is primarily if not completely from MPB.

I think if you have TE, minox can help. I wouldn't wait. But that's just me. Again, this is something I would ask a one of the docs. Things can only get worse if you have an allergic reaction. I don't think it can hurt to use a good topical.

When you discontinue a product your hair will revert to where it would have been had you NOT been using the product in the first place. So some people think it makes things worse. It's only worse relative to when you were USING the products, but it's not worse relative to where you would have been if you never used the products in the first place. So I wouldn't wait to use the products, especially if you have MPB.

I have not used progesterone or combos containing progesterone myself, but I believe it may be effective.
