Topical Suggestions?

Post by familyguy »

Hi Guys,

I have been following these forums for quite a while now and appreciate all the good information that is shared back and forth ;) My current regimen includes propecia, lasercomb 3x weekly and revivogen shampoo along with a good multivitamin and b-complex supplement. This has done wonders for the front of my hairline. I mean I don't think I can really ask for any more regrowth in that area as all that is left missing is a small space on my temples. However, this regimen does not seem to be doing as much as I'd like for my crown area. I read a lot that this area should be easier to treat than the front of my hairline so I am thinking there is probably just something missing in my regimen to address this issue.

I have been considering using a topical product like maybe xandrox or folligen, but I have no experience with these topicals and I was wondering if anyone might be able to provide some input as to which one might be better because of their strength or delivery systems? Or if anyone has any personal success stories with any topical products I would love to hear about it. To me the xandrox 15 product looks appealing because my scalp does not irritate very easily so I figure the stronger the better. But I have never used minoxidil products so I don't know if its good to start as such a high dosage.

Well I'll stop blabbing and I'll let the true experts chime in a bit. Thanks ahead for the help ;).

Thanks for the reply Dod ;) I like the revivogen shampoo. I have frizzy hair and it seems to help keep that under control. On top of that it reduces itchiness for me and seems to have made my hairs stronger and grow longer on top. I don't know if its helping regrow any hair but I would have to say it's got some positive effects on the hair I've got. Although I have only been using it for about 2 months and as with any hair product I imagine I'll have to use it for at least 4-6 months and a round of hair cuts before I can see its true benefit. I would recommend it for a general use shampoo though. It doesn't take any more time than any other shampoo to apply and relative to other hair loss treatments its pretty cheap with a $20 bottle lasting you probably 2 months!

If I were in your shoes and had a "durable" scalp then I would give plain ol' 5% minox a try. Before jumping to 15% minox I would def. try the 5%. You can get it pretty cheap too at places like Costco.

That is why I would do in your situation.
