Using Dutasteride??

Post by Joarje »

Hi there

I've been wondering about Dutasteride. It's widely available off the internet but there's two things I'm worried about. Firstly, The side effects. I've been told that they can be bad and last in your system for ages if you do get them. I'm also worried about, if I do decide to use Dutasteride, is it safe to buy off the internet and if not, what legitimate pharmacies sell it? I know it's not licenced for hair loss.

Another thing. Is it that much better then Propecia?

For some reason, Glaxo stopped persuing the FDA approval required to sell the drug for the purposes of fighting hair loss.

It does apparently have more side-effects that Finasteride (Propecia/Proscar) .

It lasts in your system a long time because it has an enormous half-life.

If you were thinking of getting it, I would personally stay away from Internet pharmacies. I would get a prescription from a qualified doctor, and then go fill it out at a real pharmacy. You would def. want a doctor to monitor your use of such a drug closely.

Last but not least, it is supposed to block more 5aR than Propecia does, which may translate to better results for hair overall, but at what cost?

I would say that for the above-outlined reasons, I would stay away from Dutasteride. Propecia has been proven for hair loss, it has also been proven to be relatively safe so far, with less side-effects.

I am somewhat leary of dutasteride. I would want liver function monitored if I took it. It is largely metabolized by the liver and does stay in your system much longer than finasteride.

Yes I've heard bad things about Dutasteride also. Would like to give it a try but don't know if it'd be worth it!
