I was just wondering if anyone on the forum has tried this stuff and if they have, what their experience has been with it.

I just found this page

http://www.viviforyou.com/viviscal/hair ... tudy1.html

It seems like it has some data backing it. This stuff has been around for a long time but I never really paid attention to it. Now that I am not using Propecia I am looking into anything that may help my situation even if it is just a little bit.

Dr. Bauman gave it to one of the 5 guys featured on the Dateline NBC specail. Apparently if my memory serves correct, the guy who was using it was happy with it. Go figure.

I would probably just stick to eating real salmon or something. ;)

One of the ingredients is Silica. Bio-Sil seems to be the best form out there. Am seriously thinking of putting it back in my regimen.

The Viviscal people are at least a little honest:
When is Viviscal Most Effective?
Viviscal has proved to be extremely effective in treating the milder form of patchy baldness, alopecia areata. Even in the case of alopecia totalis, which means complete baldness, fair results have been obtained when using Viviscal. The results achieved in the treatment of hereditary baldness, androgenic alopecia, in both young and middle-aged men can also be regarded as good. It is also known that Viviscal has an even better effect on females. In order to improve on their hair condition people have also used Viviscal after special problematic periods such as pregnancy and cancer treatment.

Yeah you are right Sam, I totally forgot about that guy on the Dateline NBC special. This stuff doesn't seem like it is really aimed at MPB and rather at different forms of alopecia like Jacob posted. Oh well.
