Hi guys!
I just found this forum and was hoping to get some advice here. I am a 22 yr old male and few years back, I noticed my hairline above my forehead have been residing.
I never gave much thought to it at first since I always have my front hair cover the bald spot. However, I am now worried it might get worse and have decided to fight against it.
I gathered some advice from this forum and the web and decided to try Propecia and Minoxidil 5%.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that this will help stop my hairline from residing and also get some hair to grow back.
My question is, in the bald area around the top of my forehead and the temple, I noticed that I still have very fine short hair. Its not noticable until you look at it really closely as they are very fine. I was wondering if this means that the hair follicles are still alive and by using these treatments, these tiny hairs will be able to grow back into normal thick hair?
I am getting very conscience of my looks now and where ever I go, I keep thinking that people are looking at my bald spot. I just hope I will get use to this feeling soon.
Anyway, thanks in advance for any advice!
Please advice. I'm getting scared

Hello Ghingy and welcome.
Minox 5% and Propecia are a good combo for the majority of people in your situation. One of the forum members here, Gaga, can attest to this. He posted some pictures showing really good growth in the hairline/temple area.
At the same time, there is no guarantee that the treatments will work. Try them for at least 6 months to see if you are a good responder, but also pay attention to how your skin feels. If its super-itchy or inflamed, you should seek alternatives that reduce these symptoms. A healthy scalp is paramount to increasing the chances of any regrowth.
As for the fine hair that you still have in some areas, there is a chance that these can become thicker and longer, forming terminal cosmetically significant hair, but there is also a chance that this won't happen.
Since you're young and taking action relatively early, you have a great chance for success.
Regards,
Sam
