SAGINAW, Mich.—Graminex LLC completed preliminary studies investigating the anti-microbial action of Graminex NAX™ 7% Paste, a non-solvent flower pollen extract. NAX™ 7% Paste was effective against a number of pathogens in a study by Dr. Harry Preuss of Georgetown University.
Graminex, in partnership with Georgetown University and Dr. Harry Preuss, expanded anti-microbial studies with NAX™ 7% Paste based on these favorable initial findings. The standardized NAX™ 7% Paste Flower Pollen Extract offers the nutrient profile found in the lipid-soluble portion of the flower pollen extract. This portion is extremely high in antioxidants and phytosterols, according to Graminex. The finished raw material is standardized to meet exact phytosterol levels for every batch. Applications include nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, cosmeceutical and food and beverage industries.

According to the company, extended studies will be conducted to further examine the effects on a variety of pathogens.
NAX is a paste form of the lipid soluble portion of Flower Pollen Extract. Similar to GFX this paste is standardized to contain not less than 7% phytosterols. As a paste NAX offers additional functionality in softgel and cosmetic formulations. NAX paste also boasts very high level of antioxidants according to the ORAC test.
