OSH101 moves to the bottom of my wish list....

Post by Tricia »

I was watching OSH101 as a hopeful, new drug candidate. I'm thinking it won't pan out. OSH101 completed Phase I FDA trials when the rights were still owned by Osteoscreen.

Osteoscreen sold licensing rights of OSH101 to Neosil and Neosil was supposed to continue with Phase II trials. Really, they could have completed Phase II by now. I contacted Neosil regarding the OSH101 trial process and here's the response I got....
As of today, our potential hair growth products are still in early stage development. We will make sure to keep you informed when/if clinical trials are begun.
Early stages, means pre-clinical. I wonder if Phase II bombed out and they are going back to the drawing board. I'm turning my attention back to Curis (hedgehog switch drug) and the HM companies.

I'm leaning most of my hopes on HM, but I'm not counting on it. Even if it comes out within the next 5 years as seems to be the optimistic consensus on various boards, I would personally want to wait at least another 5 before going for it due to safety considerations.

I also like that Isolagen thing where they just inject your own fibroblasts into balding areas. Supposedly, that works

I'm laughing because they haven't even brought that to Phase I trials yet. Kind of sad that things are progressing so slowly.

What about the laser comb guys?
Hairline is still receding after 2 yrs of Propecia, 1 yr of minox 5%, 4 months of minox 15%, and 1 yr of nizoral. And a little of revivogen now and then. Still a solid NW2 though.

Don't know what to do!!
I've read all the forums and threads and don't think there is much else to do. My last hope is the laser comb and perhaps Proxiphen. Anyone want to suggest something else?

This is so boring being our own doctor!!

Update on OSH101

Post by Tricia »

I read in another forum today, that according to Neosil, OSH101 is wrapping up Phase II with the results of that trial expected in 2006.

The moderator of the other forum contacted Neosil directly. I guess it's still in the works.
