Topical spironolactone

Anyone here use topical spironolactone? If so, have you had any side-effects? I'm worried about whether it's possible to have systemic side-effects like decreased testoserone levels. Thanks.

Hi Blimpo and welcome!

I have used topical spiro in the past and I found it to be beneficial. I did not experience any noticeable side-effects. However, I would advise that if you do use it, you use it very sparingly as it is a very potent anti-androgen. Don't slather the stuff all over your scalp. You should only use a little bit.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I seem to have forgotten about this particular thread. Anyway, I mean you should use enough to form a very thin film. Dr. Lee calls this an occlusive dressing.

Sam how come youre not using spiro anymore. I don't see it in your regimen page.
