Thinning in the crown area

I'm finding that what makes me the most self-conscious about my hair loss is the thinning in the crown area. I dread the thought of a shiny bald spot. I'm currently not their yet, but it's quite clear that I am shedding in this area. For a while the treatments were keeping things at bay, but my folliculitis trumped the treatments, and things are starting to get worse in this area.

I've thought about hair restoration for this.

I'm just curious what you all think is worse, or what bothers you the most when it comes to your hair loss. I've setup a little poll to see what you guys think.

I said the crown too...as I think most guys look ok with a receding hairline etc....or should I say look better...than if they have a baldspot.

I'm messing up your poll a little bit since I'm a female. I have diffuse thinning. It's more noticeable in the front only because people have less hair in the front anyway.

I estimate that I've lost 30% of my hair density, but since it's diffuse you don't know how much I've lost unless you knew me before.

You are definitely NOT messing up this poll! I want responses from men and women.

I actually wish more women would participate here so that this place eventually becomes a quality alternative to other quality sites. It is fully my intention to add a significant section to both the main site, and to the forums for women, and I truly appreciate your consistent participation here. =D>

I think that its all relative from the type of hairloss u have. For me, i have thick hair but a slight receding hairline. So the thought of a receding hairline makes my stomach curl and my ass twitch.

A bald spot on the crown aint that bad. Look at Zinedine Zidane. He's been balding since his early twenties.

BTW, does anyone's scalp itch a lot? And does any have a slight case of enzema? Rash of the skin, mostly on neck, joints? Are people with this condition proned to hairloss?

Just a quick note on the "itchy scalp". My head was reall, really, really, itchy. The itch is gone! It is because of one or maybe both the Hairmax lasercomb and/or Nisim shampoo.

I used to scratch so much but after using the above products I don't even have an itch anymore! I really think that an itchy scalp is a bad thing regarding hairloss.

Have you tried those things individually to see which one was the culprit for the itchiness? I'd be really curious to know if it was the lasercomb.

Hi Sam,

Unfortunately I did not use them individually. I started both the Nisim shampoo and the lasercomb about the same time. However, on the "lasercomb" web site, you will find several testimonials that the lasercomb stopped the itch! Of course, everyone is different and will respond differently to the same products. I think for me it was the combination of the comb and shampoo.

I mention the word "combination" a lot (previous replys) because I trully feel that there is no one miracle product but the right combination of products.

By culprit I was referring to which of the products you thought was causing the itchiness.
