Why do some people have androgenetic hair loss while others don't?
To put it simply: Genes. Either you have the genes that make your hair follicles sensitive to DHT
or you do not. There are other factors potentially involved in hair loss. Some doctors postulate
that inflammation, caused by an immune reaction against hair follicles that have begun the
miniaturization process characteristic of androgenetic alopecia, is a main culprit. However, the
prevailing theory is that the primary initiating factor is genetic susceptibility.
