I have seborrheic dermatitis and/or psoriasis and/or eczema. Can this cause hair loss, or make my hair loss worse?
Seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis and eczema are all forms of inflammatory dermatological (skin-related) conditions. There are differences between
these conditions but they do have common characteristics as well. They are typically characterized by swelling, itching, redness, stinging and flaking of the skin, caused by inflammation. These conditions do not cause androgenetic alopecia, but they can cause some hair loss and they can also make your hair loss worse if you already have androgenetic alopecia. If you have any of these conditions it's very important that you get them under control by using an appropriate shampoo like Head and Shoulders, Neutragena T/Gel, or Nizoral. In more severe cases you should see a dermatologist to find out
if you should use prescription medication to treat your condition(s). Unless you control inflammation of the scalp you shouldn't expect great results
from a hair loss treatment regimen. It's important to work from the healthiest scalp possible.
