PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
I'm trying to not get overly excited but this Doc is located an hour away from me. I'm gonna get the skinny come Monday but it's looking like it might already be available.

NOW THIS IS EXCITING!
I would drive down to Florida, visit some friends, and get that treatment if they are performing it now. But since you live a lot closer to me why don't you go first I don't think I can get the time off to go till June anyway.
Chore Boy, BTB and Chrome, you guys rock!

Beyond exciting... turns out minituarization is my main issue.

Re: PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
Same here. I have thinning hair that would look more patchy than yours if I buzzed it down. Doc said hairs are miniaturized but figures 99% of follicles are still viable just weak. Miniaturized hair stays in rest phase a longer time and anagen phase a shorter time, hence less and less hair appears on the head. All of this is new to me in the last year at most. So....I'm gonna do the A&G thing to hopefully get things moving in the right direction but I would spend the $800 in a second if I knew that Dr. Greco's treatment would work for me as well as it did for the guy in the video.

I'd have no issue giving him the loot if it were legit... like you said.
You can't tell from my webcam pics but if I could reverse minituarization, I could probably get a nice thick NW 1.5 going.... dude, I'd probably start crying if I could get a viable head of hair again... hahahah

Re: PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
I still look like a NW 1 but that is with hair an inch long. If I buzz it down there are patches of devastation on the crown/top and the hairline is just starting to go at the temples. All I want to do is breathe some life into those follicles and get things to thicken up. I'd cry too if I could just run my hands over a reasonably thick #3 length head of hair again...
Who knows though? In the last 4 weeks cuz of guys like Jacob and you I've found out about stuff that looks promising, especially considering that it is early in the game for me. If I could just get it back I think I could maintain it nicely for a long time to come by sitting under a laser lid for 20 minutes 3 times a week.

Re: PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
chore..do you know if there are other before/after pictures? I noticed the ones on the blog and IMO they're worse than A&G's The first having completely different color hair..the second looking like spray paint was used, and the color changing in those too. Did I mention I hate pictures? But I'd be curious to know if others are out there.
Hey...
A natural liposomal process?Figure 1(above left) is an electron microscope image of the matrix while Figure 2(above right) is a view deep inside the matrix illustrating how the protein entraps the growth factors. Since it takes the body longer to break down protein, the growth factors and healing capable cells remain over the treatment area longer allowing more new cells to attach promoting healing.
Hey...
They inject PRP directly into the scalp, then roll the skin with what appears to be a Dermaroller.

Here's the clinic link http://grecohairrestoration.com/
It looks like that first before/after was of someone with Alopecia Areata ..the second- a hair transplant and then treatment: http://grecohairrestoration.com/layman.htm

Maybe the lighten has something to do with the colors......We are currently researching this non-surgical cellular therapy as a treatment for Alopecia Areata. Results of the research grant study sponsored by the International Society of Hair Restoration and the International Hair Research Foundation will be reported in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in July 2009

wow this looks fantastic- and no side effects. 800-1000 bucks seems pretty reasonable. I have wasted that much in the last year or two on crap with no scientific proof at all. lol
Chore boy- Im sure you will, but please keep up posted on what all you find out about this. If i was in florida I would go tomorrow.

Sounds like they're already working on a take-home product.."in the future" is what he said. That could be some time from now, I suppose. I also invited him here..so we'll see if he has the time or the will to deal with us
I do like companies that respond to inquiries
BTW..we need Chrome over here too. I noticed in that thread there wasn't much interest..seems this place may be more open to these types of things.

Re: PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
good idea. I like this board alot. Actually I have lurked on all of the boards for the past several years. I am familiar with all the usual players, but have never jumped in the conversation for I did not have much to add besides frustration...and well there was plenty of that without my sticking my .02 in. So far this board has stayed pretty positive with strong, healthy discussions, and I like that.
This PRP stuff looks great and makes sense. I will say that AQ was right about his comment on studies and medical breakthroughs that get hidden away. It IS true. I am in the pharmaceutical industry. You would be shocked and amazed at how much faking/lying there really is. It is really disgusting. Especially when an individual scientist makes a huge discovery, it gets covered up and passed over, grants get restricted and weird crap happens. For instance there have been major breakthroughs in cancer and HIV well beyond what is currently available, but because it works so well and would cannibalize current products it gets put on hold or shelved. Makes me sick. I digress. sorry for my rant

Re: PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
mrw, if what you're saying is true (and I don't doubt that that sort of thing happens) it's quite sad and almost criminal. There should be laws against that sort of thing. At least there should be some kind of provision that says that if there is research that proves something works against cancer or HIV, and it wasn't shelved due to lack of safety, then the government should continue to look into it... I dunno. Anyway, I don't want to digress from the main topic of this thread. If people want to discuss this sort of thing we can split this discussion into a new thread. Let me know.I am in the pharmaceutical industry. You would be shocked and amazed at how much faking/lying there really is. It is really disgusting. Especially when an individual scientist makes a huge discovery, it gets covered up and passed over, grants get restricted and weird crap happens. If dude's head is slightly moved in the after photo, then the swirl in the crown appears to be consistent... but the hair color thing....

This tech is one of the more interesting ones out there and I don't want to mentally masturbate myself into disbelief before I even investigate it.

I agree with Jacob about getting Chrome over here... maybe a few other people. I've always liked Bornthisway from HLT.
I will admit... this site is off to a great start. I like how people actually discuss interesting stuff instead of whether or not David Beckham's armpits are receding.

These are the published miniaturization study results, as provided by Dr. Greco(click on them unless you have eagle eyes) . The bottom one is the first one.
Sam, feel free to put them on a separate page or ? He also said "We are in the middle of the Alopecia Areata research study and have applied for another one for Alopecia Universalis that may have other implication that just hair. These are devastating autoimmune conditions that psychologically destroy people and are not just cosmetic."

Re: PRP injections: Apparently the real deal.
I will place these up on the research section of the site when I get a chance: http://www.hairlossfight.com/research
I recommend you upload these to your my.hairlossfight.com files page as well. When you upload them, tag them (comma separate the tags). I would add the following tags: alopecia, alopecia universalis, alopecia areata, alopecia research, autoimmune conditions, autoimmunity, Dr. Greco
When you add a file and tag it with good keywords like that it becomes super easy to find them by using the search feature of my.hairlossfight.com.

Perfect Jacob. Looks good. I think we will have an awesome document repository over time. Just remember, whenever you upload a file, tag it well, with everything you can think of that would make sense if you want to do a search for the document in the future.

WOW that alopecia areata picture is insane! I don't know much about non-androgen related alopecia, but those results blew me away in that PDF.
It's really amazing all this stuff coming out at the same time! Man, I hope some of this stuff works!

Dude's hair in the "after" photo in the PDF appears to be a different color than the ones on the website... isn't quite as Dermamatch.
I'm super stoked about this actually being a viable treatment. That news segment on it seemed legit.

I've been lurking here for a while, watching all this A&G stuff.
I just thought I would let you guys know that there was a discussion over on hairsite about this PRP stuff last year and some of the posters were in contact with Dr Greco.

Notice how the first words out of thier mouthes on their home page are about reversal of hair minituarization.... kickass. They must have high hopes for it!
