Dermaheal HL
Hi guys, i'm a newbie to this.
I went to see a hair consultant for the first time this week to explore options for my hair loss - expecting to hear that a transplant was my only real option - and one that i couldnt afford. I had considered using products like Regaine but was put off by other users experiences - mainly that there was a possibility of hair loss when starting to use it. Anyway, the hair specialist I saw has recommened a product from Dermaheal. The product is injected to the scalp by a nurse to balding areas of the head. I would have to visit their practice once a week for 2 months then every other week after for a month. This should complete the treatment. Then a visit once every 5 months for maintenance ie one treatment. I have to admit having saw 2 before/after pictures (provided by Dermaheal!) i was impressed. This treatment is also reasonably priced at approx £1500 for treatment then £200 every 5 months. This is the first time ive allowed myself to be hopeful about going ahead with a treatment. I would be interested in hearing from anyone that has used or heard anything about the success of this treatment. Thanks

I'm assuming it's this particular product: http://dermahealproducts.com/dermaheal- ... ution.html
I started using that product..it's something I probably should have stuck with. I usually stay with things for a good length of time.

Re: Dermaheal HL
So it was weird I saw really tiny hais today when I rubbed my scalp...these weren't miniaturized hair but much smaller like rubbing a wet hand through the carpet and you get tiny tiny hairs...I am taking saw palmetto 2 or 3 times a week same with res/curcumin for topicals I use rogaine /dermaheal hair serum(75$) and emu oil...I take (white flood it is bcaa/caffeine/ arginine but no creatine like no xplode)for working out and zma---(formulation of zinc magnesium and b6 which helps you sleep deeper releasing more hormones)...I also take max hair vitamies periodically I will keep this up see what happens

Re: Dermaheal HL
Update: purely cosmetic results...no regrowth.....the cosmetic effect is mainly darkening of existing hair which I fully contribute to dermaheal and a tiny bit of thickening

Re: Dermaheal HL
I tend to have a diffused thin crown and receding temples that also have vellous hair...these vellous hairs are from rogain that I believe keeps hair from completely dying but the hair needs better thickeners like bimotrapost lattise product that they are working on. The dermaheal is good but I would love to get thicker results. What is funny is the best darkening thickening product I have used is a&g but that is still not worth it since it needs to be used all the time

Re: Dermaheal HL
I hate to even mention it...but have you ever tried FNS for thickening/maturing those hairs? I had luck with it in the past for that..and its a bit crazy I didn't just stick with it. Hard to do when using other topcials though. I may stick with Dermatopoietin or go to another topical that isn't used every day..and on the the "off" days use FNS. I really wish they'd gone liposomal like they told me they were doing..years ago.

Re: Dermaheal HL
Hair has gotten thicker and longer but no regrowth Plus my haircut is what is making it look little bit thicker. Leaving the top cutting the sides. I remember being happy with the mix of derma heel and Rogaine before but individually each does not yield the results that I like. When I did Derma heal by itself I lost a lot of hair and when I do Rogaine by itself the hair is there but it's thin as hell. I think I have female pattern baldness because my hairline is not completely destroyed and it seems I have really bad thining all over which has gone better. I use natures bounty hair and skin nails that has bio10 in it and also I take MSM 1500 MCG

Re: Dermaheal HL
I'm starting to like my hair more...I just added spirolactone cream from hairlosstalk.com...no sides so I will keep using it. I must admit I took oral testosterone over summer and finally I can say after 6 months my hair looks like what it was it even better before summer and steroids.....anyways so I don't do anything regularly everyday except rogaine and nizoral. Everything else if not everyday it's every otherday. I also quit smoking which I think has helped...will keep u guys updated

Re: Dermaheal HL
Which oral testosterone product are you taking?
I've been taking that pine pollen, as posted about here: http://www.hairlossfight.com/forums/vie ... 19495&hili

Pine pollen contains actual bio identical testosterone; it is exceedingly high in testosterone

I don't remember but it was synthetic testosterone and made my hair very thin. Jacob what do you think about spirolactone cream? I read that people get some sides from it and that it doesn't work well

Hair is looking good I think the spiro-dermaheal-nizoral-rogaine is a great combo...today I was able to style my hair up and haven't done that for years....no noticeable side

Re: Dermaheal HL
Hi,
I am a 23 yr old Female who has been suffering from hair loss for about 8 yrs now. I had the mesotherapy treatment done in India (they inject stuff into your scalp) and now I am doing home treatment with a hair roller with needles on the end while using the Dermaheal solution. However, they told me to use it once a month. After reading several blogs, I think I should use it more often. I've also been using Minoxidil 5%. How have you been using the product??
Thanks!

Re: Dermaheal HL
No never did injections i have dermarollers before but that's it. Dermaheal and minoxidil should be not a bad combo just space them apart. If u don't get fair results add spirolactone but I would space them apart....the biggest sensation I get is from spirolactone it's kinda like strong tingle burn and when I apply a bunch I get a headache

Re: Dermaheal HL
Thanks! I'm actually taking a hair supplement (oral) and a Spironolactone tablet every day.
Has anyone ever used a Laser comb?? I tried using it but could not keep up with it because of my schedule.

Re: Dermaheal HL
Nice ^ I think u should try spiro creme also because it will attack the dht from two angles...it has helped me a bunch. It had some discomfort and absorbtion is minimal as I can feel it has no effect on my libido. The laser comb I heard is a joke

That's how much I use also but I apply it in quarters at a time....I had to stop spirolactone because there was systemic obsorbtion..but for women I think it should be fine

Re: Dermaheal HL
I guess I thought you were saying it was looking better while on testosterone. I did a thread on it http://www.hairlossfight.com/forums/vie ... 37&p=19211 which included this:intricate1 wrote:I don't remember but it was synthetic testosterone and made my hair very thin. Jacob what do you think about spirolactone cream? I read that people get some sides from it and that it doesn't work well
http://www.hairloss-research.org/Update ... e4-10.htmlTestosterone may function as a dht antagonist as a man ages, having positive implications for hair growth and health. The prevailing myth for years has been that a high testosterone level is somehow bad for hair, due largely to its assumed propensity to increase DHT. We still occasionally get pestered with the age old question, “will lifting weights increase hair loss, due to the increase in testosterone.” First of all, the borderline moronic way most people train (or overtrain) will have little effect, if any on raising testosterone, and even if it did they would likely be helping their hair in a roundabout way. An associated myth is that balding men are somehow more virile, with the perverse paradox being that hair loss likely reduces the chance of having “virile” encounters. One study evaluating hormone levels in men with hair loss revealed that men with MPB actually have lower testosterone levels than the non-balding controls. So much for the myth of increased virility.
The one exception to this appears to be older adolescent and young males who can occasionally manifest early onset MPB due to a combination of high testosterone and low Sex Hormone Binding Globulin (SHBG), facilitated by insulin resistance associated with growth spurts.
So should I actually use exogenous testosterone for hair growth you ask? Not so fast. If you have low testosterone you invariably have an insulin resistant state and a higher level of aromatase , and you will convert much of it to estrogen and DHT, predisposing to bodyfat accumulation ,prostate disorders and hair loss.
However if testosterone is increased on its own vis a vis insulin management and pharmaceutical and/or plant based aromatase inhibitors, estrogen and DHT will typically decline. If exogenous testosterone is introduced AFTER insulin resistance has ameliorated, it is not likely to be problematic for hair. So the question becomes, what can be done to inhibit aromtase and facilitate insulin management to optimize my hormone profile for both health and hair growth?
Several things. In no particular order: Green Tea Extract, Black Tea Extract, Resveratrol, Pomegranate Extract all have established en vivo aromatase inhibiting, testosterone increasing properties in human and animal models. All are also documented and viable players in helping to treat insulin resistance.
Dietary common sense, translated- a mostly raw, moderate to high protein diet with lots of saturated fats (yes you read that correctly) like Red Palm and Coconut Oil, minimal to no grains, and lots nuts ,seeds, fruits and vegetables will by itself largely correct an insulin resistant state.
By far the best excersize for health and hair is a combination of resistance training, (Kettlebells are by far my favorite) along with a short sprint based oxygenating aerobic workout, known as HIIT or in its most intense form, Tabata interval training. This type of training has been shown to improve insulin resistance. Sustained distance aerobics could theoretically have a negative impact on hair and overall health via several mechanisms.
So if there `is a takeaway here, let it be that you realize that a physiologically high testosterone is actually your friend , not your enemy in the fight against hair loss, and that are several ways one can readily increase your testosterone levels, ameliorate insulin resistance, and simultaneously enhance your health and longevity.

Re: Dermaheal HL
Thanks for this Jacob great article....I was not sure if I could pursue a weight training exercise and if it would be bad for hair. One thing I noticed was my hair looking good while I was on testosterone and stopping it is when I had a shed. Plus I feel my hair is always in a better state when I'm healthier. I will try and get back in the gym
