I went to a dermatologist today and she basically told me everything you guys have already. But i was wondering my mother had thyroid cancer or got treated for it but I am only 19 would I possibly have thyroid problems causing my hair loss in the temples and crown. What are the exact symptoms bc I am wondering if hair loss can be the first one? thanks guys

I am not sure of the symptoms, but I bet you just have MPB. I think that you could always get some bloodwork done to see if you have thyroid problems if you are concerned about it.

Its unlikely you will have thyroid problems because a relative had thyroid cancer. The biggest risk factor for thyroid cancer is radiation exposure. So I wonder if she was exposed or treated with radiation prior to her cancer.
