1985: My story is one of being on Minoxidil for 27 years. Yes, that's before Rogaine was available. I had Minoxidil made by the pharmacist and applied it to my temple areas. The interesting thing is that when you apply it to both temples you don't know its effectiveness because you don't what your temples would look like had you not applied minoxidil to them.
2011: Then, on Nov 2011, I noticed thinning of my hair all around and went to see my dermatologist who put me on 1.5mg proscar. The hair on my vertex and back improved however, the hair at the front and temples continued to recede massively. I did some research on the Internet and determined that a better prospect than Proscar is Avodart. However, the optimal dosage for hair restoration is 2.5mg of Avodart taken daily.
