Patrick's Story

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I'm glad I found this. I've learned alot just reading a few posts here.

This is my story:

I'm 24, I first started noticing my hair loss at 19, although I think it could of started as early as 17 or 18.

When I was 19 I started using rogain and it seemed to help alot, I was consistent. I kept my hair very short to offset the thinning effects and make the application easier. I had heard about it from my dad.

I grew tired of rogain and looked into hair treatment from a hair restoration doctor found in the yellow pages. He recomended Propecia and sold me a 6 month supply. It seemed to help even more than the rogain. Unfortunatly, I lost my job soon after and it took me 3 years to recover. I lost alot more hair and it almost seems hopeless. I already have big enough problems with depression, this just seems like one of natures cruel jokes. I've decided this is what bothers me more than anything else, so I've been buying all kinds of stuff.

So far I have Procerin which is questionable, but it seems to helping a little bit. I'm noticing more peach fuzz around my hair line and hair is darkening up and becoming thicker. It's been three months with this.

I tossed in some rogain again, but this stuff is tough to stick with. I need to make sure I'm not taking a shower or working out after I use it. I'm using 5%. I'm just starting to get into it, but I'm sure it's helping.

I went to buy some Propecia or equivelent, but I don't have a perscription. Maybe I shouldn't have done this, but I bought some hairGenesis pills.

After reading these posts, I realize I'm not the only guy looking at all options possible. I'm planning on looking into Xandrox15 becasue rogain seems weak and take forever to dry.

This is sure to cost me a small fortune, but I see it as nothing more than buying expensive clothes or haircuts. After all, it's pretty much for the same reason. I'll be stopping in for updates as time goes by.

Welcome Patrick,

Your situation probably rings true for most guys who start losing their hair early in the game. I also started noticing my hair loss at 19.

Rogaine definitely is difficult to use during the daytime when you are an active individual. Topicals in general are a bit messy during the daytime. That's why after a while I started applying topicals only after I got home from school or work. Nowadays I apply my topicals before bedtime.

I suggest that you apply minox after school or work, whenever possible, but don't worry if you skip this application. If you do get Xandrox15 you're taking a big step towards successfully treating your situation. If you get it, just use this once a day at night time. Then in the morning take a shower and don't apply anything! This is the easiest approach I have found to successfully sticking with a regimen. The only reason people apply minox in the morning and night is because this is the arbitrary way that Upjohn chose to do the FDA studies proving that it can regrow hair. If you use Xandrox15 especially, once a day should suffice. And in conjunction with Propecia you will be using the dynamic-duo combo that is considered the best basic regimen and the most-easy to stay with.

I think that the goal should be a regimen that you can be consistent with because it's the consistency (and covering of all the bases, which your regimen will do) that will give you the best chance of success).

I'm not sure about the procerin or other stuff that you've purchased. If I were you I'd stick with the proven stuff. Focus your money on Propecia and minox. Xandrox15 is even better. Warning though, it's sticky. So use it at night time once a day.

Keep us posted on your progress!

Best Regards,
Sam

I agree, I'm through wasting money. I've seen the procerin (mainly palmetto seed) help keep the hair in and start some peach fuzz, but not enough. When I look at my reflection, I can see the reflection on my skull through my hair....

I'm glad I'm not the only guy who thinks it absolutly sucks to lose too much hair too young. I wouldn't be so upset if I had the 'bald-guy' look, but I just don't look right without hair. Some guys are ok with it, I wish I could be. I'm so bothered by it I can't see myself ever accepting it.

I'll be seeking a propecia prescription and check out the 15% minoxidil.

I think most guys can get good results by just staying with a routine and using real products. I'd be happy with more hair, even with a hint of baldness. Right now, I'm looking like I'm lucky to have any hair on my head...so every little bit more is something to be exited about.

I can't wait unitil modern science yields a way to grow and keep hair, trouble free. I know there are more serious medical issues that need breakthroughs as well, and honestly I'd rather see that then grow my hair. Being human, we desire to move forward in all directions...so cures for cancer and cures for balding are all on the horizon.
