Im shedding bad.. please help me
Hi Guys This is the first time ever I posted anything about my hair loss but I need help!
im 23 I've experiance hairloss since the age of 14! I Had SO much hair on my head, I'm indian and we have thick hair...so much hair that I couldnt wrap an elastic around my hair 3 times. Ive lost MORE THEN half of my hair. Everytime I run my hand through my hair I pull hair you. Its not breaking its actually falling out with a lil white bulb thing on the end. I've had all my blood work done Ive seen a NO GOOD dermatologist who told me to use minoxidle or get hair transplant. I'm trying everything I can. I had all my blood levels check and I had low iron at 30, but I've brought my iron up to 94 for the last 3 month and still NO improvement in my hair loss. All my other blood work is fine Vitimin D, hormones, thyroid, zinc, calcium!
Stress:
I worry its an on going thing, but its not severe stress.
Scalp conditions:
My scalp is always itchy. Sometimes I just want to dig my nails into it so it would go away. And it also tingles, I've read where it tingles it means I'm going to lose more hair in those areas. I've tried used tea tree oil but its no help. I don't have a rash or anything, sometimes their is a tender pimple here and there in my scalp but nothin major. After I shower its so itchy, and I'm now using hyperallergenic baby shampoo
I take iron supplement, vitamin d, msm powder, pure bin hang ginseng, I taking bell stop hairloss #77 supplements for a month now and STILL NO RESULTS... its just not stopping to fall out. Also takin fenugreek seeds
I cry and I pray to god to help me all the time, I just dont know what to do no more, I really don't.
Food Allergies:
I had my food allergies checked and I'm allergic to dairy. For the past week I have cut dairy out of my life and STILL NO IMPROVEMENT!
I'm currently doing the Wild Rose Detox to eliminate any toxins out of body.
Overall health:
I'm always wake up tired in the mornings, and I feel that my energy level drops during the day! I never feel well rested. My nails grow long however they chip really fast. I get cold really fast, feet hands and nose especially. I have sinus problem and dry cough.
Can anyone help me, have a similar condition to mine and let me know what worked for them? I'm desperate!

Hi Browngirl,
The symptoms you describe at overall health:
"I'm always wake up tired in the mornings, and I feel that my energy level drops during the day! I never feel well rested. My nails grow long however they chip really fast. I get cold really fast, feet hands and nose especially. I have sinus problem and dry cough."
This made me immediately think of low thyroid! Thyroid problems are a known cause of hair loss in women, and tiredness and cold hands and feet are all symptoms of low thyroid also. You said that you had all your blood work done and your thyroid is normal, but even if your doctor said it is normal, go online and do some research, because I know several women who were supposedly in the normal thyroid range but they went to specialists who put them on small doses of full spectrum (natural dried) thyroid meds and all their symptoms (low energy, always cold, hair loss) went away. Both of these ladies told me that what is considered 'normal' by most endocrinologists can be deceptive, because there is a much bigger rage of 'normal' than is currently accepted by the mainstream medical community. This means that your 'normal' might need to be higher, and so you can have really bad 'low thyroid' symptoms, and need thyroid medication, even if your levels are so-called normal.
Another thing to have your regular MD check for is lupus. Fatigue is one of the symptoms. My dermatologist told me to have my GP check for lupus because you can have a 'subclinical' case of lupus where the only symptom is hair loss. Since you have two symptoms, fatigue and hair loss, it is definitely worth checking.
It sounds like you are not just experiencing genetic hair loss but are really ill from something, so I encourage you to be persistent and assertive with your doctor. Tell him you feel sick and you want a diagnosis, and you want help to get well. If your doctor isn't interested in pursuing a diagnosis and discovering what is wrong with you, ask for a referral to someone who specializes in diagnosing difficult-to-detect illnesses. Or go to a teaching hospital...they usually accept all insurances. Call them and talk to the patient contact person for the main clinic and tell them your situation and ask them to please help you find a provider at their hospital who can help you.
Oh, one other thing, there is a shampoo that is supposed to be a really important first step in treating most any kind of hair loss because it clears up fungal and yeast infections that are often the cause of itchy inflamed scalp conditions. It is called Nizoral and it sounds like from the scalp symptoms you are describing you should definitely give it a try. You don't use it all the time, but more like once or twice a week.
Along with the Nizoral my main advice for you is to be persistent in working to get a diagnosis for your combined symptoms of hair loss, fatigue, and feeling cold all the time. It isn't just one thing, so don't let the doctors just dismiss you. What you are experiencing is real and serious and deserves real care.

Re: Im shedding bad.. please help me
Hello people!! This is my first ever post to a forum on the internet since I'm not a very tech-savvy kind of person and I hardly use the internet. I'd like to wish you guys a nice day and hope this discussion provides me some help that I'm desperately looking for . I'm a girl aged 24 and I'm losing my hair fast. I don't really know what the problem is and I've been trying hard to stop the shedding. Today I decided to take help from the internet and I just came across your forum and I thought maybe you guys could help me out. Nothing special has happened n but I started losing hair 2 years back. I had really nice thick black hair but suddenly they became so limp and lifeless. They've lost the lustre and I can't even remember changing a shampoo or something. I hardly use hair dyes and I'm too lazy to experiment with hair oils. So I don't know what went wrong with them since my entire hair brush gets black after I brush my hair. I'm so worried
