3-month update on propecia

Post by Tricia » Wed Jan 04, 2006 1:44 pm

It's been almost 3 months since I started propecia. My shedding is definitely down. But, that might have more to do with the winter time as people tend to shed less in the winter months.

Interesting side effect. It has decreased body hair slightly, which is a good thing since minoxidil increased that. I'm not saying that it has completely reversed the extra facial peach fuzz that I got from minoxidil, but I do not have to wax as often (which is a good thing).

I have not noticed any negative side effects. However, I haven't noticed any new hair growing on top of my head either

Ha, ha. I know you're supposed to take pictures, but I refuse to do that.

No problem. I was just wondering if you'd done so, so you could keep track for yourself. Not to show anyone.

At 1 mg a day, I have not had any noticeable side effects. I have heard of some women at higher doses (of 2.5 mg day) having breast tenderness. That happens to some men who take it too.

If they prescribe finasteride for hirstutism in women, they usually do it at the higher dose of 2.5 mg.
