The LaserCap is available by physician-only at this time. It is currently in pre-clinical studies in preparation for formal clinical trials to receive FDA 510(k) clearance as a hair re-growth device when clinical efficacy is demonstrated. The company makes no medical claims in regard to the LaserCap at this time. Patents Pending, Copyright 2009, Transdermal Cap, Inc. 08/2009

Some additional info on this device here: http://www.lasercap.us/hairscan22/index.htm

As I said in another forum..this is something I'd be very interested in if not for the price-tag. It's probably the only such LLLT device I'd use consistently. LLLT is way over-hyped by some imo..but I've often wondered how the results would be with various topicals. We need 50 ppl using something like this with 50 different topical regimens 8)

Got this info from DoctorHouse: http://www.baldingblog.com/2013/02/13/n ... more-11617
New Hair Institute Will Offer the LaserCap on a Trial Basis

Participants:
The LaserCap usually sells for about $3,000, but since there is no assurance that it will work and we want to see for ourselves, I will make one LaserCap available each for up to 10 patients. Each patient will need baselines measured with photos and hair bulk analysis before and after the treatment period of 90, 180, 270, and 360 days.

Ideal patients are those who are stable on other treatments, have thinning (as opposed to complete hair loss), and who will commit to returning to my Los Angeles office for photos and bulk hair measurements. If a patient is worried about privacy in the photos, we will exclude or blur your face, but a signed photo release will be required. The photos will remain NHI’s property, and the release will allow us to send copies of all photos to the LaserCap company.

Cost:
We will charge you $500 for the LaserCap, and after the 360 day period when you return to our office for your final photos and measurements, you will be refunded the $500 and you may keep the cap for yourself as compensation for your participation. We will also give you the results of the treatment for each of the periods measured (90, 180, 270, and 360 days) and not charge you for the visit.

Use Instructions:
The recommended protocol is to wear the cap for 30 minutes every other day.

Photos:
We would like photos taken at least every 3 months along with bulk measurements taken on your scalp. Photographic consistency is crucial. Two standardized views are needed. For the first view, you will need to part your hair down the middle. For the second view, you will need to comb the hair at the crown radially away from the whorl, with your face away from the camera.

Sign-up:
If you have an interest, please let us know as soon as possible, as we will only have 10 LaserCaps for this program available for our patients. For further details or to make an appointment, please call us at 310-553-9113. We can not setup appointments for this promotion via email.
