Trying to decide if your diodes are too hot

Post by 1..... » Thu Sep 17, 2009 12:26 pm

Hi guys,

I have been lasering for about 1month and I have some questions about burning hot diodes. When I laser for 20 mins, then take off my helmet, my hair is pretty warm. Is this suppose to happen? Then I went through touching my diodes and it seems like they are pretty hot. Not hot enough to made me pull away from it, but they are still pretty hot. I took a quick look at the diodes and i found one that doesnt light up. What is the best way to look at each diode to see if it lights up bc I dont want to damage my eyes? So how hot are the diodes suppose to get and does anyone else's hair get warm wen you remove the helmet? BTW my helmet was build by OMG.

Thanks for any help.

If they are warm to touch then it should be ok. If your scalp and hair get hot and you have a sunburn sensation then it is too much in my opinion. That one that you have that is already burned out probably got very hot right before it blew out. That is what usually happens. But make sure no other ones are doing this. These diodes will be extremely hot and almost burn your finger when you touch them. If you don't have these you are probably ok.

My hair gets warm, but not hot. It gets warm enough to frizz my hair a bit or dry it out. 1..... i am not sure if this is normal. I'm waiting for other people who have results and deal with this very issue to respond in this thread.

Completely normal for your hair to get warm while/after LLT, guys. If your hair dries out, try a moisturizing shampoo. Aveda has a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner combo in a very blue container. I use that every 3rd day or so. It really really moisturizes, so only use as needed.

Yeah my hair and scalp feel warm after. But like others said, not hot. Warm good. Hot bad. :D
