Yeah pretty crappy, after 6 months of use a couple of times per week, my diodes from AixiZ
are getting burning hot, one after another, with reduced light emission .. Anyone else had
problems like this: They work fine for 6 months and then suddenly begin to die?

I payed alot of money ($3 per diode) for these lasers, and feel ripped off.

I am pretty sure that if you take pictures of the burnt out diodes and email the company, they will send you new ones. I would email them to get the specifics.

This has happened to A LOT of people. Very frustrating.

Yeah that first batch was crappy. Dr. Maricle has since updated the circuit board design. I would let them know and I am sure they will replace them. I have a handful that I need to get replaced as well.

Yep....call them up and send them back. Dr Maricle warranties them for life.

Hey Guys,
A few questions. I've noticed that about 5 to 10 of my diodes have burned out today and I'm going to send them back to AiXiZ. Has anyone done this yet? I have 210 diodes on my helmet so that means these things are failing at about 5% (1 in 20)(ive been using mine for 3.5 months now). Does that sound about right?

Is there anything I need to know when replacing these diodes? I'm just going to crimp the new ones, pull the tops off the level one (?) wires and replace the diodes....Seems basic enough. Let me know if you have any advice...I hope I don't blow this thing up...lol.

That sounds about right. Aixiz should replace them no problem. Just don't forget to unhook your helmet from the power supply first :D (not just from the wall... as the power supply has capacitors, which can hold a charge)

I had problems with my diodes burning out as well. There were some bad power supplies that OMG mentioned a while ago. I had one of the bad ones that overheats and burns out diodes. Dr. Miracle sent me a new 20 amp power supply that is much better(doesn't overheat) and the diodes stopped burning out. I think he thought that the power supply was not regulating the voltage properly or something. He also sent me replacement diodes. They were burning out all the time before I had the new power supply, since then I haven't had any burn out.

Hi Hairisgood,
Do you know what type of power supply you had before? I got my helmet in july from OMG and it has a switch which regulates the voltage. I believe it runs at 30amp. Do you know how much the new power supply was? Thanks for the help.

I had the 16.6 amp one. according to omg a lot of these burnt out after the first couple months. if you have a 30 amp one you should be fine. i got the 16.6 amp one from aixiz so he sent me the new one as a replacement. it was 20 amps and has been great so far. like i said before i would get a burnt out diode like every week and it's been a while and none so far and the power supply only gets a little warm, not hot like the old one did.
