Looking for a good health/working-out book

Post by HairLossFight.com » Wed Apr 19, 2006 1:59 pm

In my early 20's I took working out very seriously. After I got married I started working out less until eventually I fell off the wagon.

I'd like to get back into it, but this time around I want to start in a way that incorporates diet into the equation. Before I just ate whatever I wanted when I was working out. Now I want to eat well and workout well. I'm eating a lot better nowadays anyway, but not really in a way that keeps track of the number of calories, all the nutrients I get, etc.

Anyway, anyone have any good books that you'd recommend? I'm going to do some research and post what I find here later.

Sam

For diet..maybe this guy's book: http://www.jayrobb.com/fbd.asp
(good products too..but not cheap)

Actually you'd probably do just as well reading fitness type forums..unless you want to spend $ on a book :!:

Sam,

I'd highly recommend "Strength for Life" by Shawn Philips. I own "Absolutions", his first book, and it's absolutely comprehensive and very easy to read and follow. Consider his latest installment an "upgrade" if you will. Covers everything from diet, detailed pictures on proper form for exercises, when to eat what, high intensity training, workout regimens, etc.
