Battling forum spam

Dear forum members,

Over the years, battling the onslaught of spam has become a more and more complex task, requiring a lot of time and effort. Jacob and I have had a hard time keeping up with it all.

We recently spent considerable time getting rid of the most if not all of the spam in the forums, and will do our best to maintain a spam free environment here moving forward. We appreciate your patience.

The battle continues.

We use a very popular forum software, but spam is a major issue. We get a lot of bots constantly trying to register and spam the forums, as well as actual people who think somehow putting garbage into forums is a worthwhile thing. In any case, we just upped our forum spam blocking tools, so hopefully we are going to stay ahead of the problem.
