HORMONES BEFORE PUBERTY IN SCALP HAIRS?

HORMONES BEFORE PUBERTY

A healthy hair needs a functional sebaceous gland associated.

Sebaceous gland needs hormones in order to work correctly.

Our hair is in very good conditions when we are children, ex. between 3 and 10 years.

Therefore, it should be deduced that androgens should exist when we are children.

How is it possible?

The dermatology treaties don't indicates this possibility and they only speak of the influence of the hormones starting from the puberty.

It is possible that androgens only exist in the neighbouring of pilosebaceous unit over the scalp, dont circulating in blood flow.
The scalp hair biology can admit it. The asynchronous mechanism of human scalp hair allows this supposition. There exist all necessary enzymes to synthesize testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) from cholesterol.

Comments are wellcome

Hi Tricia;

Most expert in hair biology say that the important amount of androgens are synthesized inside of hair follicle.
Then, what quantity of androgens exist in scalp of prepubertal childs+. I suposse the same that in adults

I can't answer that question, but I'd imagine it would be less than adults since hormones are much lower in children than in adults. Puberty marks an increase in those hormone levels (i mean, testosterone and estrogen).

Yes Tricia, the question is yet not answered, a follicular biopsy is necessary.

But puberty only marks an increase in circulating hormone levels.

As we age levels of SHBG tend to start to increase which increase Estradiol which lower Free Testosterone which may be "promoting" higher levels of DHT. So the trick is not to stop all conversion of DHT being formed - its to balance your hormones ie Testosterone to Estradiol levels.

It's the juicy hormones like DHT that comes along at puberty that the parasites really like. Some need dht to use as their own hormones as they do not produce any themselves.

Really, as an "expert" you should have thought of this.

Saw Palmetto and Pygeum OR Epilobium,

They should reduce DHT and Estradiol, hence maintaing your Testosterone at healthy levels.
