Hi everyone, I quit minoxidil six months ago after three years of use (not so serious about it) because I thought it wasnt really working and that it made my hair frizzy and dry.

I buzzed my hair really short today and it really is a complete disaster. It was such a wake up call.

Has anyone done this? Stopped minox for a while and then started again? If it is only to maintain whatever's left of my frontal hair, propecia alone will probably take care of this. It wont be worth the hassle, the shedding...

Thanks a lot for your advice guys.

On a sidenote, I really regret buzzing my hair as advised the balding looks so much worse.Image

So no one has ever experienced this? Stopping rogaine for a while and getting back on it?

I've never used minox...so I wouldn't know. I don't think there'd be a problem..if that's what you're asking...??

Hi Jacob, I think what Narcissus was asking was: If he starts using Minox again after not using it for 6 months, will he "pick up where he left off (6 months ago)," progress-wise. I, for one, can't provide an answer to this as I myself haven't been in a situation where I was using a product, abruptly stopped for a while, then resumed and observed if the results are picking up where they left off. But my guess would be - no. You won't go back to square one, but you're not going to get back where you were if you resume either. Maybe somewhere in the middle. Because if you stop using something, its effects are no longer...err...in effect, you know what I mean?
