Biology of Reproduction reveals that both prostate cancer and hair loss in men can be prevented by consuming soy products. The reason? The consumption of soy products results in the creation of a unique molecule in the intestines called equol. This equol blocks the function of DHT -- a hormone responsible for stimulating prostate cancer and causing male pattern baldness.

Soy milk and soy products (refined) are scientifically proven to have a carcenogenic residual effect. They cause cancer. The exception here is traditional soy foods such as tofu, tempeh and of cause the unprocessed beans. To state this as a fact that these products stop prostate cancer and hair loss or inhibit the production of DHT is mis information and should not be taken seriously. There is no science conducted independantly for this statement. People who are high soy users are just as suseptable to prostate cancer and hair loss as anyone else. Considering that the rates of hair loss in asian countries is higher than that of caucasians I would be pushed to believe the opposite.
