At 1 mg a day, I have not had any noticeable side effects. I have heard of some women at higher doses (of 2.5 mg day) having breast tenderness. That happens to some men who take it too.

If they prescribe finasteride for hirstutism in women, they usually do it at the higher dose of 2.5 mg.

I am sorry to hear that your shedding has increased. It feels like I'm barely loosing any hair this winter, but hair isn't growing back :shock: . So, my hair seems to be thinning despite my treatments.

I read in another forum today, that according to Neosil, OSH101 is wrapping up Phase II with the results of that trial expected in 2006.

The moderator of the other forum contacted Neosil directly. I guess it's still in the works.

That's kind of sad news that minoxidil will continue to be the drug of choice for the next 5 years. I've heard that they will be coming out with the foam version. That doesn't thrill me.

People tend to have less hair there, naturally. If the texture is changing to corkscrew-looking hair, then I've heard that is a predictor of DHT-related hair loss. I don't really know. I doubt you'd lose all of your hair right there.

If the night time formula has a steriod (betamethasone valerate) and/or
retinoic acid, then those can definitely cause irritation.

I only buy Dr. Lee's PPG-free minoxidil. I use that at night and do not have any scalp irritation at all. (i do get irritation if i use regular minox)
