Re: How to reduce Propecia/Finasteride Side Effects?

The side effects could be due to the increase in estradiol. So the key is to balance your Testosterone / Estradiol ratio. Interesting. How to you go about increasing Testosterone? Weightlifting? After stopping a returned to normal in about a week. Now I'm cutting Proscar into 1/8 and taking daily. ...

Joey-
Sorry I couldn't find any pertinent info on progesterone at least on this forum

Norwegian-
How effective is the 7hmrlignans? Which brand do you use?
Also I've seen that it may inhibit the alpha reductase enzyme like Propecia or Avodart. Can it be used as a substitute?

How to reduce Propecia/Finasteride Side Effects?

Was taking 1.25 mg Proscar daily for a month until bad sexual side effects occured. Onset was almost sudden. I quit the medication for about 1 week now things are almost back to normal. Would taking a lower dose (0.25 mg or 0.5 mg) help to reduce sides? What about taking the medication every other d...

Re: Wanting something to switch to from Xandrox-15% plus

I haven't seen regrowth in person, but there are plenty of pictures showing regrowth from propecia (mostly) and rogaine on another site (hairlosstalk).

Re: damaging comb over/ long bangs?

You could try combing the opposite way to test this hypothesis, but my temple that's thinner is the opposite to how you are describing it..I've heard that asymmetry is the thinning areas is not quite uncommon though.

Re: LLLT does not work

I've yet to see anything legit (propecia, rogaine) claim to work in the temple regions to any significant extent. At best we can expect to maintain there and in very rare cases get regrowth. I don't think LLLT should be expected to do this either. Even if it does not maintain the temples, but the re...

Bentonite Clay Powder...How much clay to water?

How many parts clay to water should be in the mixture for application to scalp? (What ratio?)

On a side not I've been using 1:4 mixture a few times and tried to wash off clay with water and even after its absorbing my shampoo. Perhaps I should use soap first?

Thanks

Re: My first ever post on a hair loss discussion forum

Based on the testimonials I'd say you are a good candidate for laser therapy. Although I hardly see any hairloss at all. Is your mostly around the crown? That's where the lasers are focussed in you picture. Are you moving the laser device around your scalp? Its purported that full coverage is better...

Re: French green clay prelaser?

Thanks jdp...I didn't know that there was two different types..good thing I asked. I actually just checked the MSDS on the website and its lists all the components of the clay: Kaolinite, Illite, Montmorillonite, Calcite, Gysum, Quartz. So it has both Illite and Montmorillonite. Do you think it will...

Kinds of laser hair growth/effects?

What do lasers most commonly do (assuming correct wattage and proper protocol)? 1) maintain and thicken existing good hairs 2) stimulate miniaturing hairs (intermediate and velllus) to grow longer and thicker 3) regrow hairs that have been noticeably absent for < 30 months I'd be super happy with ju...

Re: 6 Month Results with LLLT.....Pictures

Neverquit- Sorry that you've lost so much hair since starting the LLLT. I've actually increased my time to 25-30 minutes 3 times a week and its resulted in faster hairgrowth. I'm between month 4 and 5 and don't want to really report my results until I give it at least a year, but I can say is that I...

Re: Exposure durations

Just wondering if 20 minute sessions (done every other day) 3 times a week is still a good starting point for laser treatment times?

I've seen conflicting information on exposures lately.

Re: Magnesium Oil questions

Thanks hapy for your thourough answers. It might be worth it for me to get the expensive variety (mag oil) if I can stretch it out for 2-3 months. I've seen a brand (Swansons) that was around $8 or $9 per 8 oz bottle, but I'm assuming it would'nt be as concentrated so you'll end up spending the same...

Magnesium Oil questions

1) Where is the best place to buy it? (Pure Mag Oil/Ancient Miners seem kind of expensive)
2) How long does a small bottle from Puremagoil.com last for? (can't remember if size is 8 or 16 oz)
3) Can Magnesium sulphate (Epsom salts) be used as a cheap substitute?

Good Shampoo for LLLT?

I'm looking for a good shampoo to wash my hair with before lasering sessions. My scalp and forehead is generally quite oily before washing.

Can anyone suggest some good brand names (and preferrably cheap) that I can find just around town (local department store of drugstore)?
