Yes Tricia, the question is yet not answered, a follicular biopsy is necessary.

But puberty only marks an increase in circulating hormone levels.

Thank you for your explanation KC; "The reason most do not experience hair loss in the occipital area and around the ears is there are far less hormone receptors and smaller sebum glands" It is possible these diferences in a healthy scalp hair?, I doubt it. My theory talks about problems in sebum fl...

The important thing is that the duration of anagen phase in hair is not totally studied. I'm wondering what is the real duration of anagen, and if the cut of hair is involved in this issue.

HORMONES BEFORE PUBERTY IN SCALP HAIRS?

HORMONES BEFORE PUBERTY A healthy hair needs a functional sebaceous gland associated. Sebaceous gland needs hormones in order to work correctly. Our hair is in very good conditions when we are children, ex. between 3 and 10 years. Therefore, it should be deduced that androgens should exist when we a...

Hi friends; I concurr with you, common baldness in children could be the worst nightmare. This study is very important, androgens are implicated in MPB, but childrens have not androgens in the blood flow. what happen, what is missing? In my opinion there is a intracrinology event (*). And could be p...

IMHO persons with dense hair, thick hair, long hair are less proned to develop common baldness. The shape of hair could be important in hair loss. My theory is that the trigger of common baldness in men and women is the same: Problems in sebum flow. later there is more processes laike imbalance in a...

Can hair become thicker?

Can hair become thicker? It has been many times indicated the use of certain products to make hair thicker. It seems to have been accepted in a general way that hair is able to become thicker, but in my opinion this is a very debatable matter. Biologically hair is created in the hair follicle, and t...

Preventive treatments

Hi I believe that preventive treatments should work on the triggering cause of alopecia process. In my opinion sebum problems are the ones that start the process, then the products that avoid the detention of the natural sebum flow should be considered as preventive ones. The use of a product such a...

DHT, is it the cause of common baldness?

Dear friends, Without any intention of arising polemic, in my opinion, the theory of DHT about common baldness does not explain all the observed facts. A main reason is that with the development of the antiandrogenic drugs the problem would have been solved, but shamefully that has not been so. Scie...

Alopecia and DHT

Alopecia and DHT It is another crucial point in the study of baldness, although I wonder if this is widely accepted, that Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) is the one that miniaturizes the hair follicle and later causes the hair loss. This theory had much more sense around 50s when Hamilton was studying bal...

Life treatment or intermittent?

Dear Friends; As we all of us know the scalp hair has a hair cycle, in which there is the anagen or growth phase and the catagen/telogen or loss phase.
