Thanks for posting all this, Tricia. These articles are good to read on bad hair days :) aboy, I'd agree that greed is often a huge troublemaker, but like any powerful force, it's got the potential for good as well. I've heard the argument before that the major pharmaceuticals don't want a permanent...

Getting Propecia

I'm thinking of ordering Propecia from CVS. Has anyone here done this before? I know there are other online pharmacies but I don't trust them - no particular reason, it's just that CVS is an established chain.

Thanks!

Like probably everyone else here, I would like to believe that HM is possible, hopefully within the timeframe that authorities on this (Washenik, Cooley, et al) are giving. If HM reached the safety and consistency of a good hair transplant, would I get one? Sure I would. I've got my questions, thoug...

That's a good story, and I'm glad it worked out for you. Of course I'd like to have my insurance pay for Proscar - luckily, I haven't needed it to pay for anything else - but I don't know if I could get away with lying to a pharmacist. Like you said, I'm young enough that they would probably be susp...

Right, I haven't heard too much about liver problems from Proscar myself, besides those forum posts I mentioned. I was just curious if anyone else had. I'm reading the documents that Merck filed with the FDA when they were applying for approval of Propecia. If they say anything specific about possib...

Thanks Sam. I see you have some good questions there. I'll keep watching that page. About minox: what % should I start with, 5%, or 15% Xandrox? Will the shedding be worse if I start off with a larger amount? I'm probably going to start with just two things, like you said. I'll get an idea of how ef...

Liver damage from finasteride?

I don't want to sound like an alarmist, but this post kind of spooked me: http://www.hairlosstalk.com/discussions/viewtopic.php?t=14645 [quote]i have been taking finasteride/poscar for about 11 months now. am unsure if there have been any major effects on my hair loss but it seems the medication may...

Regimen question

Hi all, I'm 23 and a NW2 (I said this in the personal stories section, but I just joined so I thought I'd mention it again in case it helps). I'm planning on starting with the finasteride/minox combination (Proscar 5mg/4 with 5% minox) but I'm wondering if there's anything else I should consider? Al...

Thanks Sam. I'm glad to hear about the Proscar, as I was concerned about side effects. Who prescribed this for you, your general practitioner? Are you able to have this covered under your insurance plan? Also, what kind of results have you gotten from Revivogen? It sounded promising, but I had the i...

Glad I found that - I'm using Alberto VO5, which I just realized has sodium lauryl sulfate. I'm not sure how much hair I've lost because of this, but I'm switching anyway.

Thanks Akira!

hardcastle's hair loss story

Hi all. I'm 23 and a NW2 - M-shaped hairline, thinning in the crown area. I only figured out that I was losing my hair about seven months ago. I should have acted on it right then, I know, but the revelation really flattened me - I spent the next few months in a kind of denial where I didn't want to...
